Wiil Smith Saves The World (Again)

After I Robot, Independence Day, Men In Black, I Am Legend, and now this film "Hancock" I was starting to think Will Smith might be starting to think of himself as some type savior of the world god. But the new film actually has an interesting twist to the superhero genre. From IMDB:

A hard-living superhero (Smith) who has fallen out of favor with the public enters into a questionable relationship with the wife (Charlize Theron) of the public relations professional (Jason Bateman) who's trying to repair his image.

A black superhero involved in an interracial relationship? Interesting. I don't know if this is a comedy or a drama (sounds like a comedy, though), but at least it sounds like a change of pace from the usual superhero stuff that gives me brain-freeze.

Big Willie looks like a Black version of Cyclops.

I don't know what to make of this picture. But he is looking a bit zesty, if you get my drift.

Hancock? What the hell kind of a superhero name is that? LOL... Either they are into Jazz, or they are going along the lines of Blazing Saddle's theory that black men are GIFTED - so, IW, do you have any more on "I am Legend" which is based on Richard Mathieson's story from the 50's or 60's (he also did "Somewhere In Time", but those two pics were Caucasian - it seems Hollywood has decided to be PC by changing the "Legend" protagonist to an Afro-American)

Lol...those theories are pretty far out, but I did wonder why that name of all things. I guess they can take some racial liberties, as the film "The Omega Man" was based on the novel, and Charlton Heston got with a black chick. I thought that was real extra for it's time.

Was that before or after Uhura kissed Kirk on the original Star Trek? In real life she was Gene Roddenberry's other woman, he wanted her to do a threesome with his wife Maj (who was Nurse Chapel and eventually Lwaxana Troi as well as the computer on Next Generation)

I did read about that Gene Rodenberry/Uhura thing before. I don't really count that Kirk kiss, beacause everyone on The Enterprise was under some kind of "magic spell" in that episode, doing wierd, exotic, and supposedly taboo things they normally wouldn't have done under normal pretenses.
