The quality of this clip isn't the best, but it gives you the gist of the film, as well as what the college drumline is about.
Shout out to Thembi for The Sugar Hill Gang's "Apache".

I haven't seen this movie ina while. It is still a favorite. everytime I watch it it I feel like I missed out not attending a HBCU.
I kind of feel what Paula D. said but, I am kind of glad I didn't go to an HBCU. The female to male (upwards of 10 to 1) ratios would have been entirely too distracting.:-)
I still haven't seen all of Drumline.
This was one of the movies I rented when my youngest joined band - we all enjoyed it. It's so nice to see black movies without the "usual" drugs, gangs, etc. Great movie.
Agreed AJ @Paula-it's my one regret not to attend a HBCU, and an unexcused one since literally half of my family went to Howard. @Derek: those numbers are starting to lessen my regret, haha
Glad I'm not the only one with remorse about not attending an HBCU and I live in the same city as an HBCU, too.
(Still looking at Howard for my PhD, tho...hmmm)
Anyway, besides that, I was actually watching this a couple of weekends ago on TBS... the scene where the other band plays with powder on their drums and then Nick plays on the other guy's drum and gets smacked in the face? I think that's the most memorable scene in this movie.
@Tayo....go get that Ph.D girl! At least at Howard you know they'll be user-friendly, if you know what I mean...
I loved Drumline.
what is the second song they play were the other team is jammin out to it
