Why This Didn't Make The Top Ten, I'll Never Know

Ms. Hott Sauce wanted to know why "Pootie Tang" didn't make the top 10 of favorite films. I must say I'm at a loss....

When this movie came out on a Friday, my then boyfriend and I went the next day, Saturday. We only went cause I was in a small town in New Jersey for a family reunion, and they had exactly one multiplex for 50 miles.

Anyway, it was supposed to start at 3:30, and it was 3:45 and we 2 were the only ones there. We had to yell to the projectionist (can you imagine?) to start the movie. He responded by saying he was "waiting for more people to come" Honey, if you are in a town the size of a postage stamp, the only movie theatre within 50 miles, and it's 15 minutes past the start time and STILL no one else is there? The writing is on the wall. The perfect example of why Chris Rock shouldn't make even one more movie.

This is a clip of the 60 seconds that Pootie Tang was funny, and even that was in the first 5 minutes. Pootie Tang puts foot to ass with a greased up ponytail and a belt.

This has got to be on my list of top ten worse movies of all times. I only found Wanda Sykes's character to be mildly funny as 'Biggie Shorty', the rest was trash.

Wanda Sykes dancing was hilarious.

I liked this movie.. I mean if you're bored at home with absolutely nothing to do and want to laugh at something that is s ostupid that it's funny, this is your movie. it was not academy award material, but I thought it was funny... it is what it is.

Woo...didn't make the list either. We must man up and move on!

Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Jada Pinkett Smith...I could build a pyramid of (and I use the term loosely) actors, that owe me money! Talk about bamboozled!

coloredgirls you are hilarious! sincere, well, ummm....ok. :-) @hottnikz and thembi: for some reason the only time I like Wanda's comedy is on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

When I was in Tel Aviv, Israel in 2004 I met a girl who told me about Pootie Tang so I rented because of her.

I only liked two scenes from this movie. The one when he was a kid and the one where his father shows up as a stalk of corn and his mother shows up as a cow. There was also the scene where his father was attacked by a gorilla at the the steel mill.

This was funny as skit, but not as a movie.

Yeah, this movie and 90% of the Saturday Night Live skits that made it to the big screen. "Ladies Man", anyone?
