Evan Ross has been cast opposite former Disney Channel superstar-turned-pop singer Hilary Duff in the film "Greta," an interracial teen dramedy for Whitewater Films.
Duff plays the title role of a waitress who falls in love with her a cook at the restaurant they work. After they take their romance to the next level, Greta confronts the concern of her grandparents (Ellen Burstyn, Michael Murphy) about her new boo's criminal past.
Director Nancy Bardawil is currently shooting "Greta" in New Jersey. LaMike has also finished shooting "Black Water Transit" opposite Laurence Fishburne, as well as "Brooklyn to Manhattan," "Life is Hot in Cracktown" and "Linewatch."Hilary Duff has a crazy fan base so this movie may be a good crossover look for our boy. cd
From IW: Those zesty good looks are getting LaMichael pretty far in the game, but as I've said before, current mainstream Hollywood likes the leading men to look like 12 year old boys. A match with Hillary Duff is.....interesting.... but if The Duff is involved in an interracial relationship, it would have to be with the most non-threatening black (light) guy Hollywood--Diana Ross' son would certainly fit that bill. I wonder what kind of "criminal past" they'll give him? Probably something corny like somebody stole a car and he was riding in it and didn't know it was was stolen.
I have to look into that "Cracktown" movie tho.

Girl, I am NOT surprised that LaMichael is in a interracial love story with Hilary Duff. Who are they gonna put her with, Morris Chestnut? Hollywood likes those effeminate, rosy cheeked men and some how women love them too. As to be expected, I won't be seeing this. I mean the title is Greta.
That can't even be a serious Hollywood interracial romance movie anyway, because Julia Stiles isn't in it.
Thanks for bumming me out, IW. ;^)
Forty years after "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," and Hollywood still thinks interracial romance is the most compellingly fascinating subject evar!
A white TV producer a few years ago tried to recruit me to collaborate on a drama series he had in mind about an interracial relationship (with the female being the white one... natch) along the lines of "Romeo & Juliet."
I rather clumsily explained that I don't buy into the fascination with interracial love and would rather write about black life, period. That would be risk-taking, that would take guts.
The white producer ultimately got his show on the air, though it morphed into a Latino dude/white chick pairing. It was a Fox show called "Skin."
I don't get what people see in this guy. He bores me to death.
I just find the whole use of the word Zest in this context funny. That's all. No opinion on the rest. ha ha
@wanda...this will be fluffier than a baby panda bear...@UBM damn! the nerve...maybe they couldn't get anyone black on board, so they took it down a notch...I ain't gonna lie tho, I woulda done it! haha @hottnikz: he and Riahanna should have robotron babies together...@ehav: tang and zest are my two favorite words right now...
Tang and Zest? IW, you really have me laughing now. lol
I would never use those words on you, ehav...haha
Thanks for clearing that one up for me. That could have caused much confusion. I learned my lesson about picking up words before you really know what they mean. ha ha.....whew
This so cool. I'm a Hilary Duff fan. I enjoy most of her movies, especially A Cinderella Story, Raise Your Voice and The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Now I can't hardly wait to see this one!!!
