Chocolate Rain....

Saw this on "The Cocoa Lounge"....beautiful brown chocolate skin in abundance.....(for once):

Fantastic Four: Four Guys We love alum, Anthony Mackie, is known for generating heat around these parts, but Bolden!, his latest project, is full of its own sparks.

Audiences have been patiently waiting for Mackie to get his Denzel on; to land a role that transforms an actor from 'good' to 'critically-acclaimed.' That role, we hear, comes in the portrayal of Buddy Bolden, a giant in rag-time music, and early father of jazz.

The film also features three notable up and coming actresses: The Bolden women. Yaani King, Karimah Westbrook and Milauna Jemai, all young dramatic actresses, who are gaining their stripes through strong television appearances on popular shows like CSI, Without a Trace and Law & Order.

hmmm, i wonder if "hollyweird" are going to "shop" the new sisters to push out the "old"...particular sistergals who are in their 30's...like sanaa, gabrielle, nia and so on...

it's the glass ceiling effect but in hollywood, age is the excuse. and if you ain't got major $$$$ to bankroll your own project...the future looks dim. ;-(

Thank you for giving great info Janice...I'm gonna use that it a post @lance: that age thing is no joke--many of my "milk carton alerts" have fallen victim to that; even tho those 3 that you mentioned are pretty popular, it will be interesting to see how much logevity they have...

like anything else, sisters are going to have to unify and create their own films, marketing, distribution, etc...halle and oprah are "somewhat" doing it but look at their bankrolls. it may take women in the music industry to roll thru and support the film industry. janet, beyonce, mariah, are in the "stratosphere" as far as the "loot" is concerned, but like any business venture. don't use your money, use someone elses.

I think you're right, Lance--musuc industry folks should get involved, not just rappers (ie Latifah and Cube funding their films)
