Two boxing films are coming up, one historical, and one more topical/tabloid like. I'm interested in which one folks find more appealing.
If you love boxing, or are even mildly curious, I suggest you check out the great new blog that marinates in it; The Truth From #1 Pound 4 Pound.
I might be MIA for a couple of days...don't forget to vote for me in my sidebar (you can vote once a day), and don't forget to mention the Shirley Q. Liquor mess on your blogs...Sucio!

IW, you might as well have asked me whether I wanted the flu or pneumonia!
without a question, Liston Vs Clay, did ever see the PBS documentary on it? clasice
Definitely Sonny Liston. I think Mike Tyson was in the news enough for us to know his story.
Thanks for the link to the boxing blog sis! I love boxing.
I am sick of stories on Mike Tyson. Sonny Liston has an interesting story. I love boxing as well.
I too love boxing and would love to see the behind the scenes of boxing great Sonny Liston. I am happy to see that Robert Townsend is directing and Ving Rhames is starring. This sounds like a really good combination. And I echo the sentiments if bohemianabstractions. We all pretty much know about Mike. Unfortunately Cus DiAmato died too soon leaving Mike victim to the human ooze that is Don King. Mike was already a fragile being - in terms of being able to extract himself from his background. Don King should be ashamed of himself -Oh, that's right - ooze has no emotion.
Hmmm, kind of a tough one. I'm more interested in Robert Townsends work because it's Robert Townsend. After all, he did do Hollywood Shuffle andd The Five Heartbeats.
On the other hand I'm more interested in Tyson's story as a story.
Hey Eye-dub, I thought you might be interested in my interview with Babyface. Check it out: http://www.blackperspective.net/index.php/babyface-the-playlist-of-a-legend
The story about Iron Mike is not done yet, so I would go with Sonny.
I'm a huge boxing fan, thanks for the blog link. No contest, definitely the Sonny Liston story.
I've kind of seen/heard the Mike Tyson story as it unfolded, so would be more interested in Liston. The little I do know about his life makes me more interested in someone filling in the blanks.
I don't like boxing, but I love Ving Rhames and would jump at a chance to support Robert Townsend. Plus Mike T's story is still too recent for me.
I like Ving and I detest Mike Tyson so it will be an easy pick for me.
How about neither... I think that should also be an option... I'm just saying :o)
Shiela that was a good one, I can't decide either, but I think Townneds will be a hysterically funny where as Jaimee will be trying for a second oscar.
Either way I think I'll pass on both.
@shelia: it's not that bad! lol
@torrance: thanks for that info...I would love to see it!. i saw the one on Jack Johnson, tho.
@BA and professor: if you like boxing, I think that is a go-to blog
@anon: I felt bad that cus died too soon too--it left mike too vulnerable
@yobachi: kudos for the interview score! I'll check it out
@clnmike and e.black: I agree. I really look forward to the Liston story.
@nicole: I am happy about Robert coming back too.
@regina: detest? Dang!
@obenson: ya know you have to take bullets for Black Cinema!
@debo hobo: I believe the Robert Townsend is a drama, so you might want to check it out
