I know I missed "Old School Music Friday", but for the life of me I could not think of one girl group I cared enough to post about, the subject of this week's meme.
Instead, I present to you a Soul Train clip I found on Wonderman's blog. It is definitely NOT the Soul Train that I remember....to get the full effect in all it's glory, please watch with the sound muted and turned off, and focus on the men. Straight fever beginning at 0:45!

C'mon... not one? The Cookies, The Shangri La's, The Ronettes, The Supremes, Darlene Love, Jackie DeShannon, Dusty Springfield... just so much good stuff.
There's a GREAT box set that came out a couple years ago 'One Kiss Can Lead to Another: Girl Group Sounds', that covers a lot of the music from the '60s. Check it out it's great. A lot of soulful stuff in it, too and it all holds up (particularly, 'How Can I Tell My Mom and Dad (That I've Been Bad)' -- which I'm sure hits close to home for a daughter of a certain Republican governor).
I'm a little disturbed by the lack of girl group...but I'mma let you pass...
But this vid? Straight zestiness at its height...I love it!
I had many All girl groups in mine. I just posted two. I am crying laughing watching that video.. Those men was hiding something..
I don't think I saw one straight man go down that soul train line!!! LOL!

@invisiblehand: i know what you're saying. it wasn't that i couldn't think of any girl groups, and i am familiar with all of the ones you mentioned, i just couldn't think of any that motivated me enough to post about :-(
