Here is Bey "emoting" in what I'm guessing is supposed to be a tragic and pivotal scene in Cadillac Records. I still say those eyes are two broken porchlights. Maybe when you've been a pampered princess your whole life, it's hard to draw on something to convey real emotion, I dunno.... LMAO at those who say she may get an Oscar just cause she's wearing no make-up and a thirsty wig.
Here is the trailer for Cadillac Records if you haven't seen it yet; the other cast members will put me in a seat:

No make up and a thirsty wig - PRECIOUS...lmao
i hope she gets an oscar. she deserves it with all the hard work she's been doing.Goo Beee
Hi, I'm new to your site, just discovered it yesterday. Lots of fun and informative too. Already you've tipped me off to 2 potentially interesting movies, Cadillac Records and I'm Through with White Girls. Keep it up!
I've added a link to my own blog, hope that's okay. If not I'll take it off, let me know. I don't think too many people read me but maybe a few will make their way over here... Cheers.
I'm willing to admit that I like Bey...but um...this?
I'm skeptical...
Damn I didnt even know that was her on the pic.
I'll be impressed if Bey can get that "Hey Look! I'm in a movie y'all" expression off her face for Cadillac Records. I may be asking too much.
two broken porchlights
perfect!
etta james is just eye-rolling all the way to the bank. she said the girl was too bourgie and no one listened.
i won't be rushing out to see this.
That wig IS parched.
I like Beyonce better as an actress than a singer but I wished the filmmakers cast a stronger dramatic actress as Etta James.
No make up and a thirsty wig
That's IT. I'm through! LMAO. Crazy!
Folks are saying 'Oscar Buzz'. Folks are saying she works hard and thus deserve a nod by the Academy. I'm saying, what about those countless other Black actresses who have time and time again laid waste (creatively so) to a portrayal in a film? I don't know... I most likely won't go to see this flick, but will definitely rent it. As for the trailer and in regards to B.K. "Etta" looks and sounds like B.K. even here. I'll reserve further judgment (and/or critiques) for after I've viewed the piece. ;)
IW - you wrong and you know it. LMAO!
Gotta agree with madame z; Too many talented black actors find themselves shut out by the blinding star attraction of the Beys and 50s of the world.
I saw a show mention in Secret Life of Bees Jennifer Hudson and Dakota Fanning live with sisters played by Latifah and Keys. Not knockin' QL or AK's acting abilities but um hello?! Sophie Okenado is a sister too and an Oscar nominee?!
*puts soapbox away*
thirsty wig...ha! You are too funny, but it is the truth. Great post!
NOt looking forward to this movie at all.. I MIGHT catch it on dvd

Guess Halle Berry was busy. :-/
"thirsty wig" LOL. I bet the academy likes it when actors gain weight to get into character, too.
*aulelia steps in the ring to defend Bee's honour*
Lol I love this woman. She's wicked :)
I won't even come close to the door of the movie theater that this will play at.
@tc: :-)
@meanshots: sorry, but if hard work equals an Oscar, half of Black Hollywood would have one.
@david maine: thanks for the link ;-) of course i don't mind. i'll mosey on over to your site and add you.
@ms. m: skeptical is an understatement :-(
@clnmike: how come in the movies thay make her eyebrows so thick when she is either supposed to be young or with no make-up? jeesh
@reelwhore: lol! that is the PERFECT way to describe it. she's so camera aware. i'm gonna have to use that one...
@camille: etta james is probably just glad to have money for new wigs. i would be too.
@thembi: for reals!
@solshine: honey, the other two in destiny's child would have been better
@madame z: i know you are right, i should see it first, but i honestly don't think my thoughts will change--i really do hope she will suprise me.
@sdg1844: so wrong, but SO right!
@@reelwhore: i personally am tired of the singer/rapper thing getting so much dap, as so many of them add absolutely nothing to a movie.
@brandi: thanks! :-) good to have you here...
@eb the celeb: hey girl :-) i can certainly understand why...
@brklyn 6: you know bey will "gain weight" (read 10-15 pounds) for some role, then interview 100 times about how "difficult" it was
as for halle, the only reason they probably didn't have her is cause she was preggers
@charcoalink: once again, on your own with that one, lol!
@UT: dang, and I thought I was harsh :-)
I know Bey has millions of fans and I don't care she will NEVER be half the talent that Etta James is...
Well I wish Bey would play in a movie that does not consist of singing. I think she might make a great actress one day. I like her more by the way she dress than anything else. I also like her business style.. I am not a big fan of her singing.
@regina: you'll get absolutely no argument whatsoever from this blog.
@mahogany: her business is off the hook, for sure, but i think that's daddy. she has a movie coming out with idris elba soon with no singing--we'll see.
