This Might Be Good....

Thandie Newton (I love her) and rapper Chris "Ludacris" Bridges (I love him, too, except for that Paris Hilton incident) are among the ensemble cast of "RocknRolla," a caper film written and directed by Madonna's husband, Guy Ritchie.

Set in London's crime underworld, the movie stars Gerard Butler ("300") as a savvy mobster who has learned to play both sides of the fence, while Tom Wilkinson plays a veteran mob boss whose regime is quickly losing ground to foreign interlopers. Newton is cast as the love interest of Butler's character, while Luda stars as an American trying to make it big in the U.K. music scene.

I was just thinking about her. That kind of synchronicity keeps happening with me.

I love Thandie and Ludacris as well.

Great minds think alike... ^_^

What happened with Luda and Paris Hilton though?

I don't give my tv much play and sometimes catch things after the fact.

Oh, after those videotapes came out of Paris calling folks "ni__ers" and pretending like she was a rapper and a "broke bitch from Compton" (her words)the whole African Diaspora was pissed off at her. In the midst of all of the protests Luda did a performance at her B'Day party. All the blogs jumped on him like pit bulls on a steak lol!

It's my job to report everything unimportant...haha

Yea, I love Thandie Newton, and Ludacris has really grown on me. I don't know what Oprah did to get under his skin, but he has certainly made a change for the better.

I'm Indie fanatic so this one, I must see.

Ahh...
Such blurred lines nowadays.

Luda has already had a comedic flair in his rhymes. I think Oprah may have targeted the wrong rapper.
She should have gone for the heads of Twenty Cent (whom Oprah has apparently been caught on tape dancing to at parties...)and other 'rappers' that focus on misogyny and 'being a gangsta' with a seriousness.

Luda's style was way different.

Check www.myspace.com/saulwilliams for Saul's open letter to Oprah.
Eloquent and on point.

Thank you for the info on Saul's letter-I will read it next.

I always liked Luda, cause like you said, he was comical and funny, and the beats were great. I think Oprah did misstep by not taking the time to do a little research instead of lumping all rappers into one big pile. Did you know Outkast refused to be on her show as a gesture of alliance to the rappers she dissed?

Bless them for it.
I'm glad they did.
Her attack wasn't well-researched and in our community we owe each other the respect to be sure we are targeting the correct people.

Read the letter by Saul....long, but eloquent, and 100% on the money.
