From I.W.: Looks like someone will finally be saving Will for once, instead of the other way around.

This is the kind of Will Smith movie I'll definitely get down with. Actually didn't see Happyness. That movie looked to surely increase the dust factor in the room and my eyes. Ever since Six Degrees I've hoped that he could consistently get a role with tough reqs.
Hitch and Pursuit... are my favorite movies of all time. This movie looks promising and I can't wait until the release atleast hes working on 2 movies withing that space of time :P
I've always found Will Smith a tough pill to swallow... not necessarily a horrible thing, by the way... but certainly not a good thing either. I do wish he'd make more films with black talent, both in front and behind the camera... qualified, capable black talent of course. And maybe take a break from the Hollywood blockbusters, and do a low budget indie film for a change... he's got too much power and clout within the Hollywood studio system that I really want him to flex his muscles a little more... figuratively speaking of course... and take some financial and creative risks.
Really liked Smith in The Pursuit of Happyness. A very versatile performer and far more capable than he's often given credit for. I just hope I Am Legend stays close to the book.
Ash.
hey! love the new look! and yes I will hopefully see you at the blogging while brown convention. i'm looking forward to it, it'll be my first one. peace.
I'll save him... and nurse him back to health.
Nuff said.
And as an aside, I love your new look too. I'm just sad that whenever I visit your blog from work, all I see is a white background... Photobucket (and a whole bunch of other funs stuff) is blocked :(
And why I am just now hearing about this Blogging While Brown convention? Shoot, I'm blocking off all of Summer 2008, just in case!
Glad I found your blog ... it's so very refreshing, thanks.
The Pursuit of Happyness, although it started of good, left me a bit unhappy ... I saw the suffering, but it was not well define and the ending didn't have that old "Will" punch as with his other films. Needless to say, I am a fan, I think will is a wonderful entertainer.
I am very eager to see Will in "I Am Legend" as it has been one of my favorite horror/sf books for many years. I think it has potential to let Will shine and show even more versatility with his talents.
I have to say I'm looking forward to "I am Legend"...Will is good at the action flicks, and most of the known action stars are getting too old for that sort of thing...
@TAO: this picture says it all about Will's position in Hollywood

HAHA I.W.! Ok, the picture is much clearer now... literally and figuratively ;-)
Thanks for the link.
I still keep wishing... hoping that he just might be "The Spook Who Sat By The Door," and he'll show his "true self" some time soon... wishing... hoping...
TAO
@TAO Now THAT would be the s__t, but as unlikely as Bush being black, haha. They should remake that movie by the way; I wish could do it....btw, amias-I'm glad you found my blog, too-welcome :-)
This is one very cool blog. I'm glad I found it too.
As for Will Smith, I'm pretty much watching whatever he's in next. Seven Pounds sounds interesting and all but it kind of reminds of the storyline of Elizabethtown with Orlando Bloom.
