Four Rappers and A Nerd....

There is a new movie coming out with an eclectic cast called "Days Of Wrath". Here are some of the names:

Laurence Fishburne, David Banner, Wilmer Valderrama, Melyssa Ford, Faizon Love, Kurupt, Rick Ross, Slim Thug, Amber Valletta, and Taye Diggs.

Here is the trailer:

IW: All I wanna know is A) how does Wilmer look so crushable when he is not playing Fez? and B) what is cornballio Taye Diggs doing in the middle of this?

The movie looks like it will be good. I'll see it. I can do without Taye Diggs though. I never cared for dude as an actor. And his personality, shitty. But I'm just saying.

I'll gladly pass on this one. If it sees a theatrical release I'll be surprised. I expect a straight to video release like the myriad of other like films. I hope Fish got paid nicely for this! But I'm sure there's an audience for it. I'm just not a member of that club.

I'll pass on this because even though Wilmer is bringin' it with the menace (who knew?). It's the same ole violence in the hood drama. Tired of it. Fisburn is SWOLE UP! What happened?

Can't Taye Diggs find another TV show to fail at and then blame black women rather than appearing in films?

I'm torn it might be good, or I'll just wait until it comes to the dollar theater, 75 cents on tuesdays before six.

If it does make it into theaters, it better open on a Wednesday.

This trailer pisses me off, IW. It's pretty despicable to devote so much creative energy to making gun violence look cool... and at the same time pretend to critique gang culture.

@UT: Taye irks me to no end. There is a myriad of reasons why.

@obenson: you know there's an audience for this. which is why it will probably be in the theater.

@danielle: about Larry aka Laurence. what tha?? I guess his wife must be doing the serious good cookin' good lovin' thing, cause he doesn't give a fugg it seems!

@darkside: 75 cents? Where do you live?!

@ubm: I completely feel you. I posted it because of the novelty of Wilmer and the oddity of Taye. What worries me too is it is directed by a first-timer; a completely all American non-black that looks like she (yes, she) has never met a Black person before she made this movie.

I don't think she'll do much not to perpetuate the sterotypes.
